Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik meets the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

On April 11, 2024 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, negotiates with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu.

The sides discussed topical aspects of interaction between the two countries in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. Specific measures and steps to intensify industrial cooperation and develop integration ties were considered. The main emphasis was placed on problematic aspects and mutually beneficial ways to resolve them.

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers paid special attention to the preparation and holding of the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Kazakhstani Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Minsk in the coming months.

The sides reviewed the implementation of the Plan of Cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries for 2023-2024. The Ministers outlined further steps to expand mutual contacts and implement joint projects, including in the humanitarian and information spheres.

The general state of the legal framework of the Belarusian-Kazakhstani relations was discussed, the sides agreed on its inventory in line with the current goals and objectives of bilateral interaction.

The Ministers noted the significant potential for expanding and intensifying interregional cooperation with a focus on strengthening direct economic ties and promoting joint projects at the level of the regions of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The sides reaffirmed the course for consistent strengthening of integration cooperation within the EAEU, CSTO, CIS and SCO, as well as for constructive interaction within the framework of international organisations.

S.Aleinik thanked his Kazakh counterpart for the consistent support of Belarus in joining the SCO as a full member of the Organisation.
