Negotiations between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran

On May 21, 2024 on the margins of the SCO Ministerial Council meeting in Astana, the Foreign Minister, Sergei Aleinik, negotiated with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

The parties discussed at length the development of Belarusian-Pakistani political, trade and economic cooperation.

In this regard, special attention was paid to specifying and agreeing on a number of joint activities at various levels planned for the current year.

The interlocutors also discussed the expansion of cooperation in international organisations, and agreed to strengthen coordination and continue mutual support.

In the course of the bilateral meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Mahdi Safari, expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Belarus and the entire Belarusian people for their support and sympathy in connection with the tragic death of the Head of the Iranian State and the persons accompanying him.

The Iranian diplomat reaffirmed the unchanged approach of official Tehran to the fulfilment of all agreements reached during the visit of the President of Belarus to Iran in 2023.

The sides agreed to continue active cooperation in all ongoing bilateral and multilateral formats.
