Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus O.Kravchenko vists Hungary

On February 9-10, 2017 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, visited Hungary.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, the sides exchanged congratulatory messages by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Hungary (on February  12, 2017).

The parties also discussed issues of regional cooperation, Belarus-EU dialogue, prospects for further development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting with the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Zsolt Csutora, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of the bilateral Belarusian-Hungarian cooperation. Special attention was paid to the development of political dialogue, trade and economic relations, cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, including within the framework of the Cooperation Programme between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Hungary for 2016-2017.

In the course of the meeting with the Deputy Secretary of State, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Levente Benko, the sides discussed current state and prospects for Belarus-EU dialogue, strengthening of security and stability in the European region, a possibility of conjuction of the priorities of Belarus’ Presidency of the Central European Initiative and the Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad Group.

O.Kravchenko also met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of National Economy of Hungary, Istvan Lepsenyi. The sides discussed bilateral economic projects in such promising areas as banking, engineering, agriculture, construction, pharmaceuticals.

During the meeting with the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the State Assembly of Hungary, Zsolt Nemeth, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue and interaction between MPs of the two countries within multilateral forums, including the parliamentary dimension of the CEI.

During the visit, O.Kravchenko participated in the opening ceremony of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Hungary, dedicated to the Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and organized by the Ministry of Culture of Belarus in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary.
