Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov to visit New York

On July 12-14, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, will participate in the UN General Assembly high-level event on Human Rights “UN@70 — Human Rights in the Center of the Global Agenda” in New York, which is held on the initiative of the Chairman of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft.

During the visit, Valentin Rybakov will present Belarus' approaches to human rights in the context of the implementation of new development agenda for 2030.

In the course of the visit, the Deputy Minister will hold a series of meetings with the leadership of the UN. At the meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Wu Hongbo, the parties intend to discuss the UN operational reform, the promotion of Belarusian initiatives to support the traditional family, as well as the preparations for the UNECE Conference “Creating in the UNECE region a framework for deeper integration and sustainable development” to be held in Minsk in October 2016.

During the meeting with the UNICEF Executive Director, Anthony Lake, V.Rybakov will discuss issues of cooperation in the framework of technical assistance from UNICEF for the middle-income countries, including Belarus.
