Ambassador of Belarus Sergei Rachkov pays a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman

On October 14-18, 2018 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman Sergei Rachkov paid a working visit to Oman.

The Ambassador of Belarus took part in the opening ceremony and work of the Belarusian exposition «Belarus. The Taste of Nature» at the 13th international trade exhibition «Food and Hospitality Oman», as well as in the Belarusian-Omani business meeting in Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Belarusian exposition at «Food and Hospitality Oman» became the first participation of our country at exhibitions in Oman.

Sergei Rachkov met with the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman for Diplomatic Affairs Mohamed Al Hassan. During the meeting the sides comprehensively discussed the Belarusian-Omani agenda with a focus on trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as a schedule of upcoming bilateral contacts.

During the meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Oman Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, the sides discussed prospects of launching direct flights between the two countries and easing the visa regime for Belarusians that visit Oman.

The Ambassador of Belarus also held talks with the Minister of Manpower of Oman Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Bakri. The sides discussed issues of the Belarusian-Omani cooperation in the field of vocational training and agreed to conclude a memorandum of understanding in the sphere of vocational training between the two countries, as well as to create a bilateral working group for specifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in this field.

The issues ofnding business and investment cooperation, increasing bilateral trade turnover were discussed during a meeting with the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qais Al-Youssef.
