Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov to visit the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China

On September 10-12, 2024 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, will pay a working visit to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China to participate in the 9th Summit of the Belt and Road Initiative. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry is scheduled to be a speaker representing Europe. 

For Background: The Annual Summit of the Belt and Road Initiative in Hong Kong is an international platform established by the Government of the Special Administrative Region in 2016. Its main coordinators are the Bureau of Commerce and Economic Development, Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The main purpose of the forum is to discuss topical issues and ways to further strengthen business comprehensive interaction between countries within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Summit is attended by high-ranking government officials, heads of major trade, logistics and investment companies, banks and financial institutions.

The programme of the visit also includes bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, government departments of Hong Kong and China, as well as the business community of the region to discuss the current cooperation agenda.
