First Meeting of the Joint Belarus-Pakistan Trade Committee held in Minsk

On May 17-18, 2016 Minsk hosted the First Meeting of the Joint Belarus-Pakistan Trade Committee.

The Belarusian delegation led by the Head of the Department of Asia, Australia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Grinkevich included representatives of the Ministries of Industry, Trade, Agriculture and Food as well as the State Customs Committee and banking sector.

The Pakistani side was led by Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Azmat Ali Ranjha. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Ministries of Commerce, National Food Security and Research, the Trade Development Agency, the Federal Board of Revenue, banking and customs agencies of Pakistan.

Within the framework of the Committee on May 17 members of the Pakistani delegation held meetings in a number of Belarusian ministries aimed at boosting cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in trade, economic, investment, and agricultural fields.

On May 18 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a Plenary Session of the Joint Trade Committee. During the meeting results of bilateral meetings as well as prospects of interaction in banking and customs spheres were discussed. Also, the parties reviewed promising areas of investment activity.
