Belarus will participate in the CEI Summit in Belgrade

On November, 4 Belgrade will host the Summit of the Heads of Governments of the Central European Initiative (CEI) member-sates.

Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Anton Kudasov will head the Belarusian delegation at the summit.

During the plenary session is scheduled a high-level discussion “Fresh Thinking for Competitive Economy in CEI”.
During this event the participants will discuss new ways and forms of strengthening and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the CEI states in trade and economic spheres in anticipation of the new wave of the global financial crisis.

The Business Forum of CEI is also scheduled within the program of the Summit. Representatives of the business circles of the CEI member states, and of the EU states will participate in the forum.
Belarusian delegation plans to establish contacts with the European companies that are interested in cooperation with our country.

Note: Central European Initiative (CEI) is a regional organization that was created in 1989 by Italy, Austria, Hungary and Yugoslavia. Today 18 states are the members of the Organization: Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Montenegro and Ukraine. The CEI headquarters are located in Trieste (Italy).

The main goal of the CEI is to foster flexible and pragmatic European regional cooperation aimed at avoiding new devision lines in Europe. CEI facilitates the interaction of the states from the Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe in consolidating their institutional and economic background; it aims at achieving cohesion between the EU and its neighbor-states in areas of mutual interest. In doing this the major attention is paid to promoting and maintaining contacts betwen the authorities, cultural, scientific and educational institutions, and between the business-circles of the member states to exchange best practices and transfer technologies.

The Republic of Belarus is a member of the CEI from 1996.
