Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov meets the Ambassador of France

On June 2, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic, Dominique Gazyui.

The parties discussed the launch of the Paris Agreement, which was signed by the UN Member States, including Belarus and France in April 2016 in New York.

The sides positively assessed the level of cooperation among all partners in preparation of the new global document on climate.

The diplomats noted that it is important to continue cooperation among public authorities, international organizations, academia and NGOs to establish mechanisms for implementation of the Paris Agreement. In particular, Valentin Rybakov stressed that Belarus considers international projects and programmes in the climate change area, as well as assistance from international donors to interested countries in solving relevant problems as the most important factors contributing to the success of this process.

Both sides expressed willingness to continue cooperation on this issue at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
