International Conference “Laying the foundation in the UNECE region for economic integration and sustainable development towards 2030”

On October 26-27, 2016 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus hosted the International Conference “Laying the foundation in the UNECE region for economic integration and sustainable development towards 2030”.

During the Conference, four blocks of issues, including trade and standards; transport and infrastructure; energy and the green economy; investment and innovation, were discussed.

The conference was attended by more than 130 guests from the ECE region, including representatives of Parliaments, Foreign Ministries, various integration structures and international organizations.

In his closing statement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, expressed gratitude to the participants of the Conference and noted its’ relevance and timeliness. It was stressed that the Conference coincides with the logic of Sustainable Development Goals. The Foreign Minister of Belarus underlined that only together it’s possible to cope with new challenges and threats of the modern world.
