Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Valentin Rybakov participates in the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of the Alliance of Civilisations

On October 1, 2015 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Valentin Rybakov participated in the Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of the Alliance of Civilisations held at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Valentin Rybakov stressed in his statement that Belarus confirms its strong commitment to the noble goals of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations initiative in strengthening cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding between nations and communities.

Representative of Belarus noted that each of the 17 sustainable development goals that were adopted by the UN Summit are attainable only when people, communities and nations, belonging to different cultures and religions, will work together on the basis of equity and mutual respect, dialogue and trust.

Valentin Rybakov drew attention of the participants of the meeting to the unique experience of the Alliance in educating youth and promoting culture of peace and eradication of violence.

The Belarusian diplomat highlighted the connection between the well-being of the institution of the family and sustainable development of the society and called on the Friends of the Alliance to share their experience in the implementation of national policies aimed at supporting the family and promoting family values in the society.
