Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei participates in the CSTO Informal Ministerial Meeting

On September 22, 2016 in New York the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, participated in the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
The ministers discussed the issues of foreign policy cooperation in the framework of the CSTO, including collective initiatives of CSTO Member States at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Belarusian Minister drew attention of his colleagues to the priorities of Belarus during the CSTO Chairmanship of Belarus in 2017. V.Makei noted that Belarus intends to pay high attention to the promotion of effective cooperation between the CSTO and various international organisations, including the UN.
The CSTO Foreign Ministers discussed preparation for the meeting of the Heads of Member States of the Organisation in Yerevan in October 2016, and exchanged views on specific areas and forms of foreign policy cooperation in the interests of the Organisation and all its Member States.
