Expert meeting to prepare for Belarus’ exhibition at the first ever China International Import Expo

On July 11, 2018 the Embassy of China hosted an expert meeting to prepare for Belarus’ exhibition at the first ever China International Import Expo. The event was jointly initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Embassy of China in Minsk.

For reference: The 1st China International Import Expo will take place from 5 to 10 November, 2018, in Shanghai. It is expected to be attended by over 1600 companies from 120 countries. The Expo will feature the Belarusian National Pavilion and stands of numerous Belarusian manufactures.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus, Cui Qiming, opened the meeting with their welcoming remarks.

The event brought together the Belarus Deputy Ministers of Economy and Agriculture, experts from the National Center of Marketing and Price Study, governmental agencies, concerns, enterprises, as well as representatives of the Chinese diaspora and Association of Chinese entrepreneurs in Belarus.

The participants were introduced to the concept of the Belarusian Exposition in Shanghai, presented with the key exhibited products, including degustation of Belarusian foods. There was a meaningful exchange of opinion as for optimal ways to organize the participation of Belarusian manufactures in the Expo, opportunities for marketing of Belarusian products in China.

The meeting became the first ever conducted in such format marketing study of the Belarus export capacity from the perspective and with the eyes of Chinese consumers.
