Foreign Minister of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Makei meeting a delegation of the political directors of the ministries of foreign affairs of the Visegrad Group participating countries
10 December 2014On December 10, 2014 in Minsk the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr. Vladimir Makei met with a delegation of the political directors of the foreign ministries of the Visegrad Group participating countries.
The visit in such a format is taking place for the first time. The delegation of the Visegrad Group countries includes the political directors of the foreign ministries of Slovakia Lubomir Rehak, Hungary Levente Benkö, Poland Jaroslaw Bratkiewicz, and the Czech Republic Václav Bálek.
The parties exchanged their views on the situation in the region and discussed the prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the EU, including Belarus’ participation in the Eastern Partnership. Opportunities for expanding the cooperation between Belarus and the Visegrad Group, as well as development of a dialogue between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union were also considered.
The delegation also met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alena Kupchyna.
