Having noticed that certain prerequisites for hitting this year's targets are available Vladimir Makei urged to use the existing arrangements with all countries as effectively as possible. Close attention should be paid to the countries, for which joint action programs have been worked out at the highest and high levels – China, India, Pakistan, Iraq and others.

Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that all members of the Government are involved in the process of export promotion, the activity of intergovernmental commissions and their Belarusian parts has been activated significantly.

Vladimir Makei stressed that economic diplomacy instruments are at the forefront in the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions. He urged to utilize resources of business cooperation associations, honorary consuls and Belarusian diasporas.

Ambassadors of Belarus to Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, South Africa, Latvia, Japan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela made speeches during the meeting. Problems and proposals for increasing export were discussed via direct dialogue involving the Head of Government with the management of leading Belarusian companies such as MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ, Belshina, as well as top officials of a number of ministries and concerns.

Close attention was paid to the effective operation of the commodity distribution network and assembly productions abroad, as well as pricing policies of exporters.

As a result of discussion Prime Minister of Belarus instructed diplomatic missions to work harder to eliminate the customs and administrative barriers that stand on the way of Belarusian export, and to ensure non-discriminatory access for Belarusian products to the traditional markets and the promising ones.

Summing up, Andrei Kobyakov pointed out that export is crucial for securing healthy growth of the Belarusian economy, for preserving the gold and foreign exchange reserves and further implementation of the people-oriented policy. The Prime Minister emphasized the role of the heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions in accomplishing the tasks the country faces by calling them “part of the expanded government”.

The Head of Government gave awards to Ambassador of Belarus to Australia Viktar Shykh and Ambassador of Belarus to the Russian Federation Igor Petrishenko.
