Delegation of Novosibirsk Oblast to Visit Belarus

On May 29-31, 2012 delegation of the Novosibirsk oblast of the Russian Federation, chaired by the Governor Vasiliy Yurchenko will visit the Republic of Belarus.
The Russian delegation will meet with the Government of the Republic of Belarus.
The program includes visits to the Belarusian industrial enterprises, among them Amkodor, MAZ, Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, Minsk Tractor Works. The delegation of the Novosibirsk oblast is invited to visit the National Academy of Science of Belarus and the High Technologies Park.
The representatives of the Russian business circles, making part of the delegation, will participate in a matchmaking session with Belarusian enterprises, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
On May 30, 2012 the Forum of Business Cooperation between Belarus and Novosibirsk oblast will be organized under the chairmanship of the Minister of Architecture and Construction, Anatoliy Nichkasov, and the Governor of the Novosibirsk oblasv Vasiliy Yurchenko.
During these events the sides will discuss the state of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including the prospects of the bilateral trade, contacts in the sphere of agriculture, industrial cooperation, construction, the sphere of practical science.
It is expected that on the outcomes of the visit the sides will sign the Program of Actions to develop cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Novosibirsk oblast of the Russian Federation for 2012-2014, the twin-city agreement between Minsk and Novosibirsk, agreement on cooperation between the High Technologies Park and the Technopark of the Novosibirsk Academy Town.
Note:
In 2011 bilateral trade was at US$200.0 million and compared to 2010 increased by $84.4 million, or by 73.6 percent. Export increased almost twice to $150.8 million, imports grew by 15.4 percent to $49.2 million. The trade balance is positive at the level of US$ 101.6 million.
In January — March of 2012 the bilateral trade made US$58.0 million, and compared to January-March 2011 increased by 50.6 percent (28th place among the regions of the Russian Federation). Exports increased almost 2-fold (12th place) to $45.3 million, imports were at $12.7, decreasing by 20.6 percent (41st place). The trade balance is positive at the level of US$ 32.6 million.
Major Belarusian exports to the Novosibirsk oblast in January — March 2012 were tractors ($21,6 million), trucks ($2.3 million), plastic tare ($1.8 million).
Main imports from the Novosibirsk oblast are electric motors and generators ($6.3 million), lamps and electronic tubes ($3.6 million), oil products ($756.9 thousand), ferrous pipes ($280.3 thousand).
