Belarusian-Turkish consultations on consular issues

On May 22, 2024 bilateral interministerial Belarusian-Turkish consultations on consular issues were held in Minsk.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Evgeny Shestakov, while the Turkish delegation was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Yasin Ekrem Serim.

The parties discussed a wide range of consular issues, including crossing the borders of the two countries, observance of the rights of Belarusian and Turkish citizens living abroad, as well as situations arising in mixed marriages.

The Belarusian and Turkish sides confirmed the need to continue working together to prepare for the signing of a number of bilateral agreements, including an agreement on the recognition of driving licences, on cooperation in the field of youth policy, as well as an additional protocol to amend the current agreement on mutual visa abolition.
