Political Consultations between Belarus and Uruguay

On March 9, 2018 during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, bilateral consultations on political issues were held.
The Belarusian delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, the Uruguayan delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ariel Bergamino.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including political cooperation, interaction within international organizations. Special attention was paid to the trade and economic cooperation, as well as to the development of the legal framework.
The sides confirmed their interest in intensification of work on the draft agreements on visa liberalization, establishment of a joint commission for trade and economic cooperation.
The parties reached an agreement to complete in the near future the process of coordination of the text of the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Uruguay.
