Consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Latvia

On May 20, 2016 Riga hosted political consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Latvia.
The delegation of Belarus was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alena Kupchyna, the delegation of Latvia was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrejs Pildegovichs.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, including the prospects and ways of expanding the cooperation in political, trade, economic, and transit spheres, implementation of joint investment projects, interaction in the context of the functioning Eurasian Economic Union and in international organizations, as well as various aspects of the relations between Belarus and the European Union.
The sides exchanged views on the current issues of the international and regional agenda, and agreed on the need to join efforts to face effectively new challenges and threats.
