On January 11, 2017 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus hosted meeting of the Head of Consular Department of MFA, Igor Fisenko, the Head of European Cooperation Department, Andrei Bushilo, and the Head of Eurasian Integration Department, Aleksei Samosuev, with Heads and Representatives of diplomatic missions of the EU Member States, U.S., Japan, South Korea, Norway and Vatican accredited at Minsk.
During the meeting, foreign diplomats were informed about the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus “On establishment of visa-free entry and exit of foreign nationals” and were given a detailed explanation of its provisions.
Belarus made this decision taking into account its’ Presidency in the Central European Initiative and the upcoming session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to be held in Minsk in July 2017.
The Belarusian side stressed the interest of Belarus in intensification of cooperation with the above countries in political, trade, economic and other spheres.
The participants of the meeting also discussed regional situation.
