Ambassador of Belarus P.Latushko presents Credentials to the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization

On February 27, 2017 at the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Madrid, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the French Republic and the Kingdom of Spain non-resident, the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the World Tourism Organization, Pavel Latushko, presented Credentials to the Secretary-General of the UNWTO, Taleb Rifai.



During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and prospects for cooperation between Belarus and the Organization, the possibility of participation of T.Rifai in the International Branding Conference to be held in Minsk in July 2017 under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization.

The UNWTO Secretary-General highly appreciated actions by the Government of Belarus aimed at liberalization of the visa policy, stressing the importance of the decision on the introduction of a five-day visa-free regime for citizens of 80 countries that, according to T.Rifai, will increase the openness of Belarus for foreign tourists.

Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UNWTO expressed gratitude to the Secretary-General of the UNWTO for expert and technical assistance of the Organization in the reforming of the tourism industry in Belarus.
