Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Rybakov participates in Sustainable Energy for All Forum

On April 4, 2017, during visit to New York, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Valentin Rybakov, participated as a panelist in the 3rd Sustainable Energy for All Forum.

During the event, V.Rybakov informed of the national efforts of Belarus in the field of energy and its participation in the international cooperation in this field. The Belarusian diplomat focused on the proposals of Belarus aimed at improving the effectiveness of multilateral energy cooperation with a particular emphasis on availability of advanced energy technologies.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus noted that energy is becoming increasingly important in the context of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Joint efforts of states, businesses and other players will be crucial in ensuring availability of environmentally sound energy sources and relevant technologies.

Background Information: The Forum is organized by the international non-governmental organisation Sustainable Energy for All based in Vienna. The organisation serves as a unifying platform for governments, the businesses, financiers, civil society and focuses on achieving the goal of sustainable energy for all, which is consonant with the seventh Goal of sustainable development (affordable and clean energy). Its main task is to mobilize investments towards enhancing energy access, energy efficiency and the use renewable energy.
