Opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Bordeaux

On September 29-30, 2017 the events dedicated to the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Bordeaux (France) were held.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the French Republic, Pavel Latushka, presented the Honorary Consul, Andrey Shevchenko, the State Flag and the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus.

In his speech during the event, P.Latushka stressed that Belarus is interested in developing mutually beneficial relations with France, noting the priority development of inter-regional Belarusian-French cooperation.

Over 150 guests were present at the ceremony dedicated to the opening of the Honorary Consulate, including prominent state and political figures, representatives of business circles, the consulates based in Bordeaux, as well as representatives of the Belarusian diaspora.

On September 29, 2017 Ambassador of Belarus also met with the Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux responsible for the international cooperation, Didier Casabona.

During the meeting, the Belarusian diplomat pointed out that the main task of the Honorary Consul of Belarus will be the intensification of economic cooperation through the contacts of business circles of two the countries, implementation of joint projects in the field of culture and education, consular and legal assistance to Belarussian citizens.

Honorary Consul of Belarus in Bordeaux will carry out his activities in the consular district, which includes the region of New Aquitaine.
