Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Kupchyna took part in the EaP informal ministerial dialogues

On July 11, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, took part in the meeting of the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries in Kiev within the 7th round of the EaP informal ministerial dialogues.

The participants discussed topical issues of international agenda with a focus on the perspectives of further development of the initiative and interaction in the EaP multilateral format. The parties also discussed regional security challenges.

In the course of the plenary discussion, the Head of Belarusian delegation outlined the approaches of the Republic of Belarus regarding the cooperation within the Ea P.A. Kupchyna specifically highlighted the necessity of a greater differentiation and increasing effectiveness of the initiative through implementation of concrete projects. The importance of building up a dialogue and cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union was also emphasized.

Alena Kupchyna held a number of working meetings with the heads of delegations of the EaP partner countries, the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, and the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Helga Schmid. A wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including the development of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union, was also discussed.
