Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei participates in the event on the occasion of the International Children's Day

On June 1, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, participated in the thematic event “Partnership for Children”, organized by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry together with the UNICEF Office in Belarus on the occasion of the International Children's Day.



Among the participants of the event were the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the Minister of Economy, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, the leadership of several parliamentary commissions, and representatives of local authorities. Heads of the Offices of the UN family, diplomatic institutions accredited in the Republic of Belarus, charitable foundations, non-governmental organizations, mass media together with members of their families attended the ceremony.



The main guests of the holiday were children — students of Belarusian schools, orphanages, as well as children with special needs.



Within the official part of the event, Foreign Minister, Vladimir Makei, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech.

In his speech, V.Makei stressed that our country pays special attention to the protection of every child in social, economic, environmental and legal aspects.



“What we put into the child's soul and mind affects not only the future of the particular family, but also the future of the nation, future of the country and the future of our planet in general,” – the Minister said.

V.Makei also stressed the symbolism of this event that is called “Partnership for Children”. “Today we are starting the tradition of a comprehensive partnership and I hope that this is only the beginning,” said the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
