Belarus and EIB sign the Framework Agreement on cooperation

On May 15, 2017 in Luxembourg the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the European Union, Aleksandr Mikhnevich, met with the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Vazil Hudak. During the meeting, the Head of the EIB signed the Framework Agreement on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the EIB. Thus giving effect to the modalities for the Bank’s activities in our country, which means that now all three major European financial institutions (EIB, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Northern Investment Bank) have the opportunity to work in Belarus.

During the meeting, the sides discussed promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and the EIB. Special attention was paid to the development of the transport network, small and medium enterprises, energy-saving technologies and environment. In 2017, the EIB plans to invest up to 200 million euros in Belarusian projects.
