On June 9, 2017 Vienna hosted Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Austria.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Kravchenko, the Austrian delegation was led by the Secretary General (First Deputy Minister) of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Michael Linhart.

During the consultations, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Austrian relations, including cooperation of the two countries in the political, trade, economic and other spheres. The parties considered the interaction of Belarus and Austria in international and regional organizations, including within the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Central European Initiative (CEI), taking into account Austria's Chairmanship of the OSCE and Belarus’ Presidency of the CEI.

The sides exchanged opinions on Belarus-EU relations and topical issues of regional security.
