Working meeting of the Senior Officials of the Council of Ministers of Belarus with the Heads of Belarusian Diplomatic Missions and Consulates

On July 13, 2016 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a working meeting of the senior officials of the Council of Ministers of Belarus with the heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions and consulates.

The First Deputy Prime Minister, Vasily Matyushevsky, the Deputy Head of the Government, Natalya Kochanova and Anatoly Kalinin, as well as representatives of the Presidential Administration, Council of Ministers, the National Assembly, Heads of Central Governmental Bodies, Belarusian Ministries, corporations and businesses attended the working meeting.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, in his report gave an assessment of the results of foreign economic activity of the Belarusian missions abroad during the five months of 2016. V.Makei noted a growth of the Belarusian export in quantitative terms compared to the same period of 2015, but at the same time stressed the existence of certain negative trends in the export sector.
The Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry paid attention to the need to develop measures aimed at fulfillment of tasks in the field of foreign economic activity. V.Makei urged the participants to identify ways to solve existing problems in the sphere of foreign trade.
The Ambassadors of Belarus to Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Hungary and Pakistan addressed the meeting. The participants of the meeting directly with the senior officials of the Council of Ministers discussed the issues of the supply of Belarusian products on foreign markets.
The First Deputy Prime Minister, Vasily Matyushevsky, addressed the audience with closing remarks and noted that in the current situation diplomatic missions’ most important task is to search for new trade routes and sales markets without reducing the activity of our presence on traditional markets. The First Deputy Prime Minister called the heads of diplomatic missions to assess the effectiveness of new markets, marketing costs and other factors, as well as noted the need for increased export basket at the expense of high-tech products and services that are in demand.
V.Matyushevsky stressed the need to use the potential of growth in exports of transport and high-tech services.
In conclusion, the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to strengthen the information support activities of export, as well as introduce the latest technologies of information distribution about our potential and achievements into the daily practice.
