Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations A.Dapkiunas meets the UN Secretary General

On August 21, 2017 at the UN headquarters in New York the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN, Andrei Dapkiunas, met with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, on the occasion of the completion of the Permanent Representative of Belarus of his diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on ways of raising the efficiency of activity of the United Nations, including in the context of the proposed by the Secretary General plans of reforms of the Organisation, including peace and security architecture, development system realignment and management reform.
The Head of the UN Secretariat and the Head of the Belarusian Mission to the UN have agreed in their understanding of the importance of improving day-to-day interaction and connectedness between the organisation’s Secretariat and the missions of the Member States, as well as of a standing mechanism of addressing the problems of such interaction that is currently being considered by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Belarus.
