Representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry meet the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq

On August 29, 2017 the Head of Africa and Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Luchenok, and the Head of State Protocol Service, Yury Sluka, met with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq headed by the Director of Iraq’s Foreign Ministry State Protocol Service, Ali Hadi Hameed Al-Bayati.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations, the collaboration of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries aimed at the promotion of the Belarusian-Iraqi cooperation.
The Head of the Iraqi delegation assured that Baghdad would continue to make efforts to strengthen the Belarusian-Iraqi ties in political, economic and other spheres. The Iraqi diplomats expressed gratitude for Belarusian support of Iraq in its’ fight against terrorism. The sides expressed their sincere hope for the speedy recovery of the Iraqi economy after a devastating war against the so-called Islamic State terrorist group.
