On the Participation in the International Conference «East Forum Berlin 2013»

On April 17-18, 2013 Belarus Delegation headed by Ms.Alena Kupchyna, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, took part in the International Conference «East Forum Berlin 2013» in Berlin.

The issues under consideration during the Forum were as follows: the impact of EU debt crises on the economies of the Eastern countries – EU members, the prospects for the Free Trade Area, merits and risks coming from the possibility of the common economic space creation that will cover the area from Lisbon to Vladivostok.

The representatives of the governments of Central and Eastern European countries, the officials of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government institutions of Germany, the representatives of the European Commission and top managers of the German consortiums, financial institutions, entrepreneur associations and agencies providing  business development support took part in the Forum.

Ms.Alena Kupchyna took part in the discussion on “European Union, Eastern Partnership, Eurasian Union – challenges and opportunities of the agreements on free trade and economic harmonization”.
During the visit to Berlin the Belarus Delegation participated in the meetings in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry of Economics and Technologies, German Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and with the members of Bundestag.

The parties discussed the progress of execution of the agreements reached during the 11th session of the Belarus-Germany working group on trade and investments that took place in Minsk on March 21, 2013.

The visit of the Belarus Delegation to Germany will help to further develop Belarus-Germany cooperation in the spheres that are of mutual interest for the two countries.
