Consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Italy

On February 7, 2019 Rome hosted next round of consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Italy.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Evgeny Shestakov, the Italian delegation was led by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano.
The sides considered current state and prospects for the development of political dialogue between Belarus and Italy, as well as between Belarus and the EU. The intentions to strengthen intergovernmental and inter-parliamentary contacts and improve the legal framework of bilateral relations were also discussed.
During the consultations, the parties analyzed the dynamics of Belarus-Italy economic cooperation and implementation of common investment projects, as well as a number of issues in the fields of humanitarian and consular collaboration.
They also evaluated prospects for promoting joint initiatives of the two countries within international and regional organizations (OSCE, Central European Initiative, UN system bodies etc.).
