Second session of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation

On August 18, 2016 Minsk hosted the second meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Belarusian part of the Committee, the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President, Nikolai Snopkov, Chinese was led by the member of the Political Buro of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Political and Legal Commission of the CPC Central Committee, Meng Jianzhu.

During the meeting, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus,
Vladimir Zinovsky, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Valentin Rybakov, and the representatives of other ministries and departments reported on the work, done within the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation.

The parties noted that the Committee's work is important for the promotion of the Belarusian-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation, as well as coordinated actions, aimed to strengthen and enhance the level of cooperation in the political, trade, credit and investment and scientific spheres, in the field of security, education and culture.

The participants of the meeting noted that in the short and medium term, Belarus and China will continue active cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats on the international arena, strengthening cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

After the session of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation the sides signed the Protocol of the meeting.

During the visit of the Chinese delegation the sides made a number of arrangements to continue active cooperation in the credit and financial sphere, promoting the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park, activation of inter-regional contacts, creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects.
