On the visit of the Belarusian Delegation to Serbia

During the visit of the Belarusian official delegation to Serbia on June, 12 the opening ceremony of the assembly production of low power tractors “Bobruisk plant of tractor parts and units” took place in the city of Novi Sad. The event was attended by the Vice Prime-Minister of Belarus Mr.Peter Prokopovich, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Mr.Vladimir Makei, the Assistant to the President of Belarus Mr.Valery Brylev, the Minister of Industry of Belarus Mr.Dmitriy Katerinich, other high-level representatives, business circles of two countries. On a new line in the current year it is planned to assemble 350 tractors.

On June, 13 Mr.Prokopovich and Mr.Makei opened a Belarusian-Serbian business forum at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia. The official Belarusian delegation and about 300 representatives of business circles of Belarus and Serbia participated in the event.

As the results of the forum, 9 documents were signed, including contracts on the delivery of Belarusian tractor sets, BelAZ rock handlers, MAZ trucks, tires, spare parts, salt and other products totaling more than $20 million, to Serbia.

On the same day in Belgrade Mr.Prokopovich, Mr.Makei and Mr.Brylev held a meeting with the First Vice Prime-Minister — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Mr.Ivica Dachich. Mr.Makei also met the Assistant to the President of Serbia on foreign policy Mr.Ivan Mrkich.

The parties exchanged views on the ways of implementation of the agreements of the two Presidents, reached during the visit of the President of Belarus H.E. Mr.Alexander Lukashenko, including on the implementation of joint investment projects, organizing events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Serbia, further development of bilateral dialogue.

A number of Belarusian Ministers and the Mayor of Minsk Mr.Nikolai Ladutko also met with the First Vice Prime-Minister — Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Mr.Rasim Lyaich. Wide range of issues was discussed at the meeting, including the ways of expanding bilateral trade cooperation and the activities of the Bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
