Ambassador of Belarus A.Ostrovsky visits Oulu

On June 2-4, 2016 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Finland, Alexander Ostrovsky, visited the city of Oulu.

During the meeting of the Ambassador of Belarus with the Mayor of Oulu, the sides exchanged views on the possibility of the expansion of existing business contacts between the Finnish city and the Belarusian counterpart, as well as prospects for establishing partnership with the city of Gomel.

At the meeting with the director of the Chamber of Commerce and executive director of the municipal institutions BusinessOulu, the parties discussed the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The investment climate, legal aspects of conducting business in our country, the condition of the operation of free economic zones and the advantages of cooperation within the EEU were presented to the representatives of business circle of Oulu. During the presentation, a special attention was paid to the participation of businessmen of the region in the fifth Belarusian-Finnish economic forum to be held in September 2016.

In the course of the meeting at the University of Oulu, the Ambassador of Belarus discussed with the Head of the University the possibility of the expansion of bilateral academic contacts.
