Belarusian delegation participates in the opening of the Executive Board first regular session of UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS

A first regular session of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program / United Nations Population Fund / the UN Office for Project Services (UNDP / UNFPA / UNOPS) began its work at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Deputy Permanent Representative I.Velichko thanked UNDP team for transparent nature of interaction with Member-States.

In her speech, the Belarusian diplomat outlined special interest of Belarus in implementation by UNDP of a target to reinvigorate support to middle income countries (MICS) indicated in the second report of the Secretary-General on repositioning of development system.

The Deputy Head of the Belarusian Mission noted that diversification of financing sources and changing trend of decline in core resources would give new impetus to cooperation with MICs.

At the end of her speech, I.Velichko drew attention of operational agencies’ representatives and Member-States to the first ever regional forum of national coordinators of SDGs’ implementation, which would be held in Minsk on February 21-22.
