Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat

On August 23, 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Director of the Energy Community (EC) Secretariat, Janez Kopač.
During the meeting, the sides discussed perspectives for possible interaction of Belarus and EC.
Background Information: the Energy Community was founded in 2005 with the aim to expand European internal energy market, including countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Nowadays EC includes the European Union (as individual member) and eight so-called «partner countries»: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine and Montenegro. Armenia, Georgia, Norway and Turkey have the observer status in the organization.
