On August 19, 2016 Minsk hosted the second session of Belarus – Sri Lanka Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.



The Belarusian side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus,
Valentin Rybakov. Sri Lankan delegation was led by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Sri Lanka, T.M.K.B. Tennekun.

During the session, the parties discussed the top-priority fields of mutual cooperation such as the issues of the creation of joint assembly plants in Sri Lanka, the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, the cooperation in the field of pharmaceutics and medical education, tourism. Summarizing the results of the meeting, the Protocol was signed.
