Belarus informed about the submission to the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly a resolution entitled “Improving the coordination of efforts against human trafficking in persons”.
The Belarusian delegation also proposed to set up under the auspices of UNODC a database of national coordinators/anti-trafficking mechanisms for the purpose of building experts’ cooperation in the field of combating human trafficking.
The delegation of Belarus expressed concern over usage of the Internet for human trafficking and suggested to consider the possibility to develop and adopt an international instrument which would regulate international cooperation, aimed at the elimination of Internet sites, through which the crimes are committed in this area.
The Belarusian delegation also called on the international community to intensify the efforts to prevent drug use, including among children and youngsters. In this context, the Belarusian delegation recalled the adoption in 2017 at the initiative of Belarus by PA OSCE resolution on combating new psychoactive substances and a UNCND resolution entitled “Promoting scientific evidence-based community, family and school programmes and strategies for the purpose of preventing drug consumption among children and adolescents”.
