Delegation of Belarus headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs M.Ryzhenkov participates in the high-level segment of the UNHRC session

On February 24-26, 2025 the official delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Ryzhenkov, is to visit Geneva (Switzerland) to participate in the high-level segments of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) and the Conference on Disarmament.

The program of work envisages statements by the Foreign Minister at high-level events,  participation in the Ministerial meeting of the Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter, as well as talks with the leadership of the Geneva-based organizations of the UN system.

The Minister will present the position of Belarus on security issues in the region and the world in general, reflect the current approaches of the Belarusian side to the activities of the Human Rights Council with a focus on problematic aspects and ways of their settlement, as well as outline the main priorities of the Belarusian chairmanship in the EAEU. 

Special attention will be paid to the illegal use of unilateral coercive measures by certain countries in violation of the UN Charter and Human Rights.

During his stay in Geneva, Maxim Ryzhenkov will also have bilateral contacts with his counterparts from Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South-East Asia. The parties intend to discuss the general agenda and specific aspects of further strengthening of interstate cooperation.
