Due to the importance of the issue regarding the date of entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the State of Israel on mutual abolition of visas for holders of national passports signed on September 19, 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inform that the parties are currently implementing national procedures to ratify the Agreement.
On December 9, 2014 the Standing Commission on international affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus held a meeting to consider a draft law on ratification.
On December 11, 2014 it is scheduled to consider the issue at the meeting of the fifth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. After that the document will be submitted to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
As for the Israeli side, the question of ratification of the Agreement was examined on December 9 in parliamentary committee on internal affairs. The issue is expected to be included in the agenda of the meeting of the Cabinet of ministers within a week.
The agreement will enter into force 90 days after receiving via diplomatic channels the last written notification on completion of internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the Agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the coordination with the Israeli side will further announce the exact date of entry into force of the Agreement.
