Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov visits Angola

On August 10-11, 2015 Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Valentin Rybakov had a working visit to the Republic of Angola.

The head of the Belarusian delegation met with the Minister of External Relations of Angola, Mr. Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti.

The consultations, related to the issues bilateral and multilateral interest, were hold between the foreign ministries of two countries. The chairman of the Angolan side on the consultations was the State Secretary – Deputy External Relations Minister Ms. Ângela Bragança.

Mr. Valentin Rybakov also held a number of bilateral meetings. During the meeting with the Minister of Economy, Mr. Abrãao Pio Dos Santos Gourgel the sides reaffirmed their interest to mutually beneficial partnership in all spheres. The parties also stressed the necessity of establishing a joint intergovernmental commission.

Prospects of cooperation in the field of exploration and mining operations were discussed with the Minister of Geology of Angola, Mr. Francisco Monteiro Queiroz.

Mr. Valentin Rybakov also met with the Angolan Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Afonso Pedro Canga. The Angolan side highly appreciated the achievements of Belarus in providing food security and export-oriented agricultural sector. The Minister of Agriculture admitted high social standards of the rural workers life and expressed interest in the usage of advanced Belarusian technologies, tractors and other agricultural machinery.

At the meeting with the heads of private companies and the management of Angolan Chamber of Commerce possible deliveries of Belarusian food and agricultural machinery to Angola were discussed.
