On the Consultations with the European Free Trade Association

On April 8 – 11, 2013 the 8th round of the consultations between the Customs Union unified negotiating delegation and officials of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) on the draft Agreement on Free Trade between Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and EFTA will take place in Irkutsk(Russia).

The Belarus delegation will be headed by Mr.Igor Nazaruk, Deputy Director of the Department for Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation will include the representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Natural Resources, State Customs Committee, State Committee for Standardization, National Center of Intellectual Property and National Academy of Sciences.

During the consultation the parties will discuss trade in industrial and agricultural goods (including the conditions of access to the markets of the parties involved), customs procedures, trade procedures facilitation, practice of the application of sanitary and phytosanitory measures.

The delegations will also consider the conditions for trade in services, the realization of the investments projects, intellectual property rights protection, state procurement practices, competition rules, and other relevant issues.
