Presidents of Belarus and Lebanon Satisfied with the Talks They Had (press release by press service of the President)

The official visit of the Head of the Belarusian State to the Lebanese Republic began with a short conversation with the Lebanese President Emile Lahoud. President of Lebanon Emile Lahoud arrived personally at the airport of Beirut to welcome Alexander Lukashenko.

During his visit, Alexander Lukashenko met with Prime Minister Omar Karami and the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berry.

“Belarus and Lebanon have virtually established an adequate legal framework in their relations. Now it is the Governments’ turn to make full use of it. We are prepared for it,” said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at his meeting with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Omar Karami.

In the evening of February 2, 2005, the Presidents of both countries held face-to-face talks.

Alexander Lukashenko and Emile Lahoud are satisfied with their talks held in Beirut. The Lebanese President Emile Lahoud pointed out that both sides had discussed a wide range of subjects, including cooperation in various areas and the situation in the region. We have a feeling of sincere friendship towards the Belarusian people, he added.
