On November 11, 2024 the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History hosted the opening ceremony of the exhibition of paintings by the Serbian nun Maria (Antic) «The Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac in the Light of the Resurrection».
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Yuri Ambrazevich, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Belarus, Ilina Vukajlovic, the Director of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History, Vladimir Voropaev, the Director of the Museum of Genocide Victims in Belgrade, Bozhan Arbutin, the representatives of Belarusian state authorities, diplomatic corps, clergy and the Belarusian public representatives.
In the speech Yuri Ambrazevich noted the cultural and spiritual closeness, friendship and high degree of mutual respect of the Belarusian and Serbian peoples, their careful attitude to the history and the memory of the compatriots who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Motherland.
The Deputy Minister stressed the high importance and symbolism of the project in the context of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus and Serbia from Nazism during the Second World War, as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
