On October 12, 2023 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov in Bishkek as part of the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council.
During the meeting, discussed key aspects of Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, cooperation within integration structures, and the schedule of upcoming joint events.
In particular, the interlocutors touched upon the organisation and holding of the 10th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan, which will be held in Tashkent.
The parties were pleasd to note the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan. Discussed interaction in the spheres of light industry, agriculture, industrial cooperation, pharmaceuticals. The sides stressed the importance of further expanding the formats of interregional cooperation. During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on interaction and mutual support in international organisations.
The parties confirmed the high level of the Belarusian-Uzbek dialogue, similarity of positions on topical issues on the international agenda, and "synchronized their watches" on the implementation of joint projects.
