Permanent Representative of Belarus L.Belskaya meets the WTO Deputy Director General

On April 29, 2022 the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office and other International Organisations in Geneva, Larysa Belskaya, met with the World Trade Organisation Deputy Director-General, Zhang Xiangchen.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current state of the process of accession of the Republic of Belarus to the WTO and prospects for expanding cooperation between Belarus and the Secretariat of the Organization. 

Z.Xiangchen expressed support for pragmatic approach of the Belarusian side, which consistently continues to improve domestic legislation in accordance with the WTO requirements and implement other necessary measures at the national level. 

The Permanent Representative of Belarus stressed the importance of the WTO consultative and technical assistance, which contributes strengthening   the expertise and institutional capacity of the Belarusian public bodies and trade structures.
