On December 2, 2024 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, opened a training workshop for young diplomats, students and professors of profile universities.
This traditional event for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this year takes place from December 2 to 6, 2024 for the 17th time. It is attended by young Foreign Ministry employees with up to one year of work experience, as well as graduate students of profile universities (BSU, BSEU, MSLU), winners and laureates of the career guidance competition “I want to be a diplomat”. In total, more than 80 people.
The seminar participants were invited to meet with guest lecturers, including Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Igor Karpenko, Head of the Second National Channel, Igor Lutsky, First Secretary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Central Committee, Alexander Lukyanov, as well as delegates from the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Defense.
The topics of the seminars cover a wide range of issues on the history of diplomacy, foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus at the current stage, international cooperation in economic, political, humanitarian, informational and other spheres. The program of the seminar also includes a visiting of the Center of History of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Belarusian Diplomatic Service.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, M.Ryzhenkov noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is interested in energetic, result-oriented and dedicated to the Motherland young professionals. “Now you have all the conditions and opportunities not only to get theoretical knowledge about the foreign policy of Belarus at the classroom, but also to learn more about the Foreign Ministry's operation organization in practice, to get to know more about all areas of the Ministry's activities - from the consular to the information sphere”.
The Minister emphasized that the Foreign Ministry will continue to offer young specialists in international affairs to participate as volunteers in significant events held in Belarus by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as continue the practice of holding a career guidance essay contest “I want to be a diplomat.” “This is a good opportunity for young people to decide whether it would be interesting for them to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the future,” M.Ryzhenkov emphasized.
