The development of Belarus-Slovakia relations will be on the agenda of the bilateral ministerial consultations scheduled for March 28-29 in Bratislava. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valery Voronetsky.
Prospects of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and investment sphere, issues on extending the legal base of the bilateral relations, consular and visa matters will be discussed. The parties will exchange views on the international policy challenges. Special attention will be paid to opportunities for organizing Days of Belarus in Slovakia.
The consultations will be a step on the way to the regular session of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Slovak commission for economic and sci-tech cooperation due in September-October 2007 in Minsk.
Belarus and Slovakia established the diplomatic relations on January 14, 1993. The bilateral turnover in 2006 soared by 49.4% to $140 million. The Belarusian exports to Slovakia increased by 38.5% to over $70 million.
