Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov holds meetings with the leadership of Myanmar

On November 27, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, as part of the high-level Belarusian state delegation, held a series of meetings with officials of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting with the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, Than Swe, the parties noted the positive momentum and constructive nature of Belarus–Myanmar relations, their shared commitment to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation, and the importance of implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. They discussed regional and global issues, including matters related to international security.

In the framework of the meeting with Myanmar’s Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, cochair of the Joint Belarus–Myanmar Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Wah Wah Maung, the parties addressed the progress made in implementing the agreements reached at the second meeting of the Joint Committee, held on October 2, 2025 in Minsk. 

Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint-venture projects in Myanmar. A Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for 2026–2028 was signed.

That same day, the Belarusian Minister of Foreign affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov took part in the Belarus–Myanmar Business Forum.

The event brought together more than 100 representatives of the business community and government agencies of the two countries.

In his address at the official opening of the forum, the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Belarus and Myanmar are steadily deepening their mutually beneficial and friendly relations, aimed at improving the well-being of the peoples of both states. He noted that “the strengthening of ties between Minsk and Nay Pyi Taw is in the interests of our countries and our peoples. We have much to offer one another, given the complementarity of our economies.” The Minister also highlighted the considerable potential for cooperation between the two countries, which should be jointly realized.

During the event, and following its conclusion, representatives of Belarusian and Myanmar companies held a series of negotiations focused on cooperation in agriculture and food production, pharmaceuticals, the promotion of Belarusian automotive equipment, and the procurement of a range of goods of interest to business circles in Belarus.

On the sidelines of the forum, Maxim Ryzhenkov gave interviews to Belarusian and Myanmar media on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

Myanmar’s official delegation to the forum was led by Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Wah Wah Maung, along with other officials.

The Belarusian delegation also included the Minister of Industry Andrei Kuznetsov, the Minister of Health Aleksandr Khodzhaev, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov, and Chairperson of the Bellegprom Concern Nadezhda Lazarevich. During their meetings with the leadership of the relevant Myanmar ministries, the Belarusian representatives discussed, among other matters, industrial cooperation, supplies of agricultural, pharmaceutical, and textile products, as well as professional training.
